What can visitors see and do at Le Barcarès Christmas Market?

Two natural-ice rinks
Two large natural-ice rinks sit at the heart of the Le Barcarès Christmas Village, linked by ice paths. Beginners and experienced skaters each move at their own pace, with no time limit on the ice, and skates can be hired. Gloves are mandatory, exit from the rinks is final, and skating is paid separately from entry and sold on site only.

The Ice Museum
The Ice Museum (Musée des Glaces) reopens with an entirely renewed staging of nearly thirty ice sculptures on the theme of Santa's workshops. The museum is kept at minus 10 °C to preserve the sculptures, so warm clothing makes sense for the visit.

Santa's House and Santa's Wonderful World
Santa's House (Maison du Père Noël) shows Santa surrounded by elves, bear cubs, reindeer and other companions preparing Christmas. The new Santa's Wonderful World (Monde Merveilleux du Père Noël) leads through several worlds to an automata exhibition of more than 700 m², and two photo stands, with Santa Claus or in the world of the Three Kings (Rois Mages), end with a souvenir photo.

Enchanted Forest, sleighs and the Yeti
The Enchanted Forest (Forêt Enchantée) has snowy fir trees, a maze on snowy paths and giant bubbles each showing a Christmas scene with automata. In the virtual sleigh, a VR headset flies riders over Christmas landscapes, the new Petits Traîneaux are electric sleighs driven alone or in pairs, and the new Yeti, Guardian of the Snows, lifts riders a few meters in its giant hand.

Royaume des Sensations rides
The Royaume des Sensations rides are spread across the four corners of the village and open from 11:00. They include a big wheel, the Grand Carrousel, the Super 8, the Royaume des Rennes, Le Traîneau du Père Noël, a slide, the Ice Palace, games, arcades and pony rides, all paid separately on site.

Chalets, restaurants and the village shop
Craft chalets sell original handmade creations and gourmet treats suited to gifts, while food chalets serve sweet or savory specialties and hot drinks made with local and regional products, outdoors or under the large covered hall. Three mountain-chalet restaurants are back this year with indoor seating or terraces, and the village shop stocks Christmas decorations, soft toys, mugs, candles and snow globes.
Plan your visit in advance

By car and parking
From the A9 motorway, drivers take exit 41 (Perpignan Nord), then the RD83 towards Le Barcarès to exit 10. Another route leaves the A9 at exit 40 (Leucate) and follows the RD627 towards Leucate / Le Barcarès, also to exit 10. Signs then lead to the Christmas Village car parks: P1, P2, P2-bis, P3, P4, P5 and P6. P1, near the village, has spaces reserved for disabled visitors. Campervans have their own area, open around the clock without booking, reached by following signs to the port and then to the campervan area. Local taxi companies are listed by the organiser for visitors who prefer not to drive.

Is Le Barcarès Christmas Market worth it?
Yes. This Christmas market in Le Barcarès combines two large natural-ice rinks linked by ice paths, an Ice Museum with an entirely renewed staging of nearly thirty ice sculptures, and three attractions new for 2026: Santa's Wonderful World, the Yeti and the Petits Traîneaux. Around them, craft chalets sell handmade creations, food chalets serve sweet or savory specialties with hot drinks, and three mountain-chalet restaurants are back with views over the entertainment and lights. Parades and fireworks are part of the entertainment during the event, and the village stays open until 01:00. The rinks, the rides and the other attractions are paid separately on site with the activity card or a bank card, while the Pass Premium bundles entry with the Ice Museum, Santa's Wonderful World, the virtual sleigh and the Petits Traîneaux. A ticket bought online is valid on any open day except special evenings, which leaves the choice of day open.
Entry tickets for the Le Barcarès Christmas Village and the Pass Premium can be bought online in advance, which the organiser recommends to avoid queues at the entrance.
